The Craiglands Hotel our EFT "Palace of Possibilities" was founded in 1859 as "The Craiglands Hydropathic Health Resort and Home for Invalids". 1859 was the year that Big Ben first chimed, Darwin published "The Origin of Species" and Niagara was crossed on a tightrope. People came to Ilkley Moor from far and wide for hydrotherapy treatments and to enjoy the fresh air and gorgeous Yorkshire countryside. I've been teaching my EFT Practitioner courses with Linda Wood now for a couple of years and when she first started sewing buttons onto bears I thought them charming and a great way to involve kids. Then I got beared! And I've been tapping with the little "critters" with surprising success. So what is going on when we tap on a soft toy? Firstly there is an externalising effect. We respond with a different perspective to something outside ourselves. When we make a bear into a person, symptom or block and dialogue with it whilst tapping we can experience and clear a projected emotion and can separate from the problem. Secondly we are activating mirror neurons. Seeing someone do something our own brains are stimulated as if we were doing it ourselves. Whatever the explanations it undoubtedly works. And if you want to learn from the bear lady herself then Linda Wood is running her Magic Buttons Bear's training again in Lancashire 8/9 August. Plus there will be bear tapping at the EFT for Animals days in Ilkley on 18th September or 6th November to learn three approaches to surrogate work or 9th October at the EFT Masterclass 2009

Here is another short lesson from one of the nine EFT Helps sessions. In this session with Roy we use the Movie Technique for a pre verbal memory. Roy had been very ill as a baby and was separted from his mother and put into a foster home. In this clip I ask him to make up a movie of the first few years of his life and he chooses to start it before his birth. We start with tapping for the facts of the movie and then for his mistaken belief that "it was the baby's fault". The full one hour session with Roy goes on to work through the movie step by step transforming Roy's limiting beliefs that arose in those early years. Last week an international group of experienced EFT Practitioners and Trainers explored a fascinating selection of EFT innovations and ideas with me. It was wonderful to try out new ways of using EFT with such an eager and able group. We started with my explanation of life balance which leads to emotional balance then moved onto visual ways of gathering information and starting a session: drawing SUDs scales and the Moodlines technique. Next came emotional projection and the group were surprised at the depth of feeling accessed and cleared when they tapped on drawings and bears. We then worked as a group with The Voices Grid my new tapping technique inspired by the work of Robert Dilts for enabling a person to feel supported to clear blocks. Then after a run through the neuroscience of trauma and a thorough approach to testing in EFT we added tapping into the family reconstruction work of Virginia Satir (which I first learned from Wilf Proudfoot) for a deeply moving healing across three generations. We packed a lot into two days and the group went away buzzing with new ideas. I'll be running this workshop again the weekend of 24/25th October and at Sunrise Ranch in Colorado
